Louise Cella Caruso discusses the life of artist William Sidney Mount (1807-1868) at the library. Mount resided and painted in Stony Brook, affectionately depicting the activities of its rural country folk. This slideshow/lecture will spotlight his beautifully simple paintings that subtly comment on the powder keg of political issues of the 19th century.
