The secret to life is staying creative. Creative expression is ingrained in our DNA and enriches all aspects of our lives. Work with what you have workshops use every day and sometimes unorthodox materials to create visual works of art and explore our creativity in a safe and welcoming environment for all. Many of these workshops are also great for teachers of all disciplines to integrate art in their classrooms. This workshop introduces us to the history of the traditional fabric of Indonesia, Batik. Batik is a “resist” process for making designs on fabric. We will learn a bit about the designs and tools that are used to create Batik, then we will use hot glue to create our own design on a swatch of fabric using the resist technique. Materials not included, materials list available at time of registration.
