Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the voting process?
A. A total of 81 restaurants are selected for the competition. It is up to the restaurants to decide if they want to enter the ring. Two rounds of voting will take place to determine the top 10 restaurants who will compete at Battle of the Burger:

Round I: 81 Restaurants
May 1st – 31st

Round II: 30 Restaurants
June 1st – June 20th

Q. How can I purchase event tickets?
A. Click the “Tickets” tab to purchase tickets. Tickets are limited, so don’t delay!

Q. What is included in the General Admission ticket?
A. Entry from 4:00-7:00pm
» Taste the top 10 restaurants’ burgers
» Meet the chefs and see them in action
» Enjoy refreshing cold Amstel ® Light
» Dance to the live music
» Free Parking

Q. What is included in the VIP ticket?
A. Access to all General Admission items, plus:
» Beat the crowds with one hour early admission (3:00pm)
» Kick back in the VIP lounge with special services, cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres
» Receive a VIP gift bag with offerings from Amstel ® Light, sponsors, chefs and more!

Q. How often can I vote?
A. You may vote online once per day.

Q. What else happens at the event besides tasting burgers?
A. While tasting the top 10 burgers, you will have the chance to meet the chefs and see them action! There will be live music, photo opportunities, lounges, as well as additional refreshments and Amstel® Light! Enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon on the water with the best beer and burgers around!

Q. How is the winner of the event picked?
A. Each guest will have one vote to cast during the event. After tasting the burgers, guests will submit their vote for the burger champion. We will tally the votes and announce the Battle winner, along with first and second runner up at the end of the evening on stage.

Q. Are there any ticket giveaways?
A. We will be giving away a limited number of tickets through social media contests. Follow us @longislandpulse or “Like” us on Facebook to stay on top of our promotions.

Q. Where is the event held?
A. The event is held at the Village of Patchogue Shorefront Park. The address is 1 Smith Street Patchogue NY 11772.

Q. Is the event family friendly?
A. Yes children are welcome. Guests over 21 will receive wristbands.

Q. Do you offer discounts for large groups?
A. Yes, we have group packages for 50+. Please call 631-289-4315 for more information.

Q. How do you select the restaurants in the competition?
A. There are a few criteria for being included, but the big one is the burger should be a staple on the restaurant’s menu. Pulse people are out sampling burgers all year long, which is part of our development of the list. Don’t see your favorite? Let us know who we should consider for next year!
