What to Watch on Netflix This March

Spring may be on the way, but the unpredictable weather hasn’t ceased. It’s getting hard to pinpoint whether summer temperatures or chilly breezes will greet us when we open the door in the morning. If the latter forces you inside, don’t fret: Netflix’s March 2018 offerings will keep you occupied. March titles feature a lot of girl power, some action, comedy and plenty docu-reality.

Girl Power: Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Ladies First & Edha

There’s no better time for women to take center stage than right now, and Netflix knows it. New content in three genres this month are female-focused. (It’s National Women’s History Month after all!) First, our favorite Marvel mademoiselle Jessica Jones is finally back after a more than two-year hiatus. Find out why she’s still angry during season 2. Drops March 8

But don’t stay up too late with Jessica. Ladies First, a documentary about a real-life female badass also premieres. Deepika Kumari battled poverty and female oppression in rural India to become the top female archer in the world at just 18. Drops March 8

Edha, Netflix’s first Argentinian original series, focuses on a strong single mother and successful fashion designer. She meets a mysterious man and gets caught up in a revenge plot fueled by passion. Could happen to any of us, right ladies? Drops March 16

Dramatic Adventures: A Series of Unfortunate Events & The Mechanism

The dramas dropping this month may be for wildly different audiences, but they have one thing in common: suspense. The Mechanism inspired the “biggest money laundering scheme in Brazil.” It’s full of nail-biting twists, corruption and cover-ups. Drops March 23

If fantastical adventures are more your thing, A Series of Unfortunate Events is premiering season 2 at the end of the month. Drops March 30

Laugh Out Loud: Love, On My Block & Alexa & Katie

Get ready to laugh this month: three comedies are coming; two of them are series premieres. The quirky romantic comedy series Love returns for season 3. Drops March 9

The two comedies premiering this month use humor to approach some serious subjects. On My Block follows a group of diverse teens in inner-city Los Angeles trying to survive high school together. Drops March 16

Alexa & Katie focuses on two best friends enduring high school and cancer together in two very different ways. Drops March 23

Face Reality: Flint Town, Take Your Pills, Rapture & Wild Wild Country

March is heavy with documentaries. Flint Town is a series that documents the conditions in Flint, Michigan for two years after the water crisis that plagued the city. Drops March 2

Take Your Pills documents the rise of Adderall and other performance-enhancing drugs. Wild Wild Country tells the story of a cult in Oregon that clashes with locals and eventually creates national conflict. Both drop March 16

Rapture is a documentary series that profiles different hip hop artists around the world to capture the genre’s impact. Drops March 30

Movie Night: Benji, First Match, Game Over, Man!

Game Over, Man! is the story of three men who team up to save their video game when their investor is taken hostage. It’s like The Hangover trapped inside a virtual reality. Drops March 23

Benji is the wholesome story of two best friends, an orphaned dog and a kidnapping. I know, I wasn’t expecting that left turn either, but it’s family-friendly, I promise. Drops March 16

On a more serious note, if drama is more your taste, First Match is for you. It tells the story of a teenager in foster care who joins the boys wrestling team in an attempt to find her way back to her estranged father. Drops March 30
